Beowulf at the Bishops Wood Centre, Crossway Green

This performance of Beowulf performed by Hugh Lupton and Rick Wilson was a rather special event. It took place at the Bishops Wood Centre in Crossway Green in it’s traditional Saxon Hall.  Following drinks and introductions in the main centre the audience walked through the trees under the stars to the Saxon Hall.  Here the story of Beowulf was told by candlelight in front of an open fire.

An audience member commented: “What a fantastic night! A candlelit walk through the trees to the Saxon hall, huddled around the open fire, watching the flames, listening to the mesmorising Hugh Lupton. Tales of mosters, drangons and great battles, with mead under the stars at the interval – wow. Not your average Wednesday night! Thanks Shindig!”
