‘For One Night Only’ Showcase

We celebrated the launch of Shindig’s autumn season of shows this week with a special showcase event at Feckenham Village Hall. Volunteer Promoters, Live & Local staff, local arts organisations and our funders from local authorities and the Arts Council England joined village residents to enjoy, For One Night Only by Farnham Maltings.

The show tells the story of Eddie and Bode who arrive in England with big dreams and set off for Covent Garden to find their fame and fortune as street entertainers. But… a failure to understand the railway timetable sends them on a tour of the Home Counties via Banbury and Milton Keynes. In an adventure that includes a night spent in bus shelters, the picking of apples and a triumphant five minutes in Didcot town centre, this is a story about two friends getting by. Performed in the round, the show really captivated the audience with lots of clever participation, infectious energy and inventive use of props. We laughed, smiled and enjoyed every minute!

This event aimed to highlight just one of the fabulous acts that can be seen at community venues across Worcestershire autumn – and what a great start. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to join us, it was lovely to see some familiar faces and to get to know some new ones.
